No offend, my friend. I’m not judging anyone nor any organization here, but just some sharing from my own experience.
To me for someone or any organization to be categorized as “narrow minded” is simple, few criteria to be fulfilled.
First is ego, they may have achieved great things before, and they just can’t put that away anymore. Second will be the leaders, these people may have their own hidden agenda or even an urge to outshine their predecessors or to prove themselves. You can’t lead while you’re at the stage of “want-to-prove-yourself”.
Third one is the culture. You see, you just can’t run away from various culture in your routine life, but culture could be something that may stops you from moving forward. Bureaucracy, red-tape and so forth. Have you communicate well upward and downward? Have you opened your eyes wide enough to see other possibilities (or you are just sitting there clicking away all the proposals?) or have you been thinking out of the box? Or too far from the box itself? All above could be dangerous.
My friend, “blind” is just part of “disabled”, am I right? Its either you want to be generic or specific, how can you have both? Please enlighten me.
