KIM POH HUP Restaurant is a Chinese Hakka home cook restaurant in Kampung Subang.

In the Chinese Hakka dialet, Kim means Gold, Poh means Fortune and Hup means Box. In short, Kim Poh Hup means a box of gold and fortune.

Its ho-hum surroundings might not offer much encouragement, but Mueng Thai’s affordable, top-drawer Thai treats represent the silver lining in Pusat Perdagangan NZX’s cheerless cloud of closed restaurants. The standout here is the marvellous bitter gourd curry chicken – it possesses a mild tartness that reins in the thick, not overly spicy curry’s sweetness and sets it apart from its ubiquitous green curry counterpart. The tom yam seafood special with crab and kerabu mango salad are other highlights on the nondescript restaurant’s extensive menu.

One of the most important thing for me is freshness in food (especially vegetables), their food was steaming hot and fresh. The vegetables in the dishes could not have been fresher.  Even the garnishes on the plates looked picture perfect.
Good food, prepared with skill and love, is an art form, and this is quite evident at Mueng Thai. The chef cares very much about what comes from the kitchen, and you can both see and taste it, here.  Pretty plates are served, and each is a paragon of the amazing, spirited flavors one expects from good Thai cusine.

Restoran Sang Mewah is located near Telekom in Taman Desa patronised by many locals nearby the area, it is always overflowing with customers during lunch and dinner hours. You can find free parking after office hour but hardly any parking during lunch time. 雷茶 is a traditional signature dish among the Hor Poh (河婆) clan which is part of the Hakka’s (客家). It is also known as thunder tea rice due to the thunderous pounding sound during the grinding process of the ingredients. Preparation process of this dish is tedious. Meticulous hard work of manually grinding tea, seeds, nuts and herbs for the tea soup. Then uniformly chopping up 7 different types of vegetables. And finally, there is still condiments of Dried Shrimps, Preserved White Radish, Tofu and Toasted Peanut to be carefully prepared.
Just by presentation alone, I could feel the amount of hard labor being put into my tiny bowl of rice. The savory condiments against the refreshing vegetables, accompanied with hot tea soup hit my tummy on its sweet spot. It is definitely a meal worth traveling for!
Another Must Have from Restoran Ho Boh is Abacus beads (算盘子). Abacus Beads are made of dough formed from yam and tapioca flour, cut into abacus-bead shapes. When cooked, Abacus Beads are soft on the outside but chewy on the inside. This dish is cooked with minced or pork, dried shrimps and mushrooms. I would highly recommend Restoran Ho Boh. Great food and Value for money!

This place sells the best wan tan mee! The noodles were made to perfection, being super springy and bouncy, very unique texture and hard to find. The noodles are delicious both with the soup and dry versions!


这碟最吸引我的云吞面在于两个方面,一,面条细小且分布得很密麻,用筷子夹起来时的触感会让人觉得面条非常实体化,总觉得“斤两”很够,绝对填得饱肚子就是了。当然,一吃进嘴里时,心中波浪汹涌,所以好不好吃自当不在话下,如果真要我为大家道明一切吃后感,呜~~ 真的是很好吃啊~~ 面条细小,嚼劲一流,就是很实在,很实在啊~~

很令我吃惊的,叉烧肉肥肉瘦肉比例已可说是三七的黄金比例,加上每一块叉烧都是蛮肥厚的,而且而且,不但如此,叉烧被烧得很美,看起来真的是很 “腊”,堪称不折不扣的烧腊叉烧肉,天啊~~ 真是吸引死我了~~

一丢进口里,砰!碰!咚!咔!铮!轰隆!要命!要命!要命的好吃!!!真的,肉质甜美之外,瘦肉就让我咬得非常有实在感,占了三分的肥肉就软得不用我去咬已完全在我舌头各牙缝里毫无的乱奔乱闯,加上叉烧本身散发出来扑鼻的浓浓脂肪味,呜~~ 好吃

这是古仙餐厅,里面有卖许多小档口。这次的来到古仙餐厅是我一位朋友介绍下,让我感到等不及的想到古仙餐厅品尝美食,因为我朋友告诉我在古仙餐厅有两个档口卖Curry Laksa 和客家面是在Glenmarie 最出名的。想不到在工厂区里有那么好吃的美食。

首先介绍Curry Laksa。你能指定你想要什么类型的面条。您可以选择从米粉,黄色面条,贵刁黄帝眠。然后,您可以选择加料(添加成分)与酿豆腐或咖喱鸡。鱼丸,茄子,豆腐,饺子等等。Curry Laksa 的外表看起来红红的很吸引人,可是又感觉吃起会很辣。其实我个人能接受也不觉得好辣。Curry Laksa 最重要是汤汁的味道,我个人比较喜欢选米粉+面。因为米粉是很容易吸起汤汁,所以当你放进口里是,也会感到汤汁再你嘴里的存在。而他的Curry Laksa 真的很香浓浓的味道和感觉,吃起来你能感觉到Curry 中带着椰浆的香浓浓味道在你嘴里,而且再要下去你就能感到香料的味道,我相信这家老板用了很多心细去煮Curry Laksa 汤汁。



Chase away your Monday blues with a good thick curry laksa or curry noodles like this particular one found in Shah Alam. A bit far to travel from the city but the curry is good stuff. A bowl of curry laksa will be served with two pieces of chicken, cockles and tofu puffs. Thick and rich, you can understand why this restaurant is packed with people every day for lunch.

Aside from laksa, this particular stall within the funnily named Chicken Cuisine (their logo had a chicken with a serving tray versus it being served on a platter!?) also serves yong tau foo. You pick and choose what you wish to eat from trays of ready made yong tau foo and they’ll prepare the chee cheong fun for you straight away.

A standard bowl of noodles come with chicken, cockles, bean sprouts and tofu puffs. I added a piece of brinjal yong tau foo and fried wanton into my noodles… That aside, the curry gravy was aromatic, thick and rich in flavour. Squeeze some lime juice in to give the curry some zest. Pretty decent…

I was quite delighted to see the creamy orangey-red colour of the broth with a layer of chilli oil on top. The laksa was served just the way I like it; with lots of fresh bloody-looking cockles, chunky steamed chicken, fluffly soft taufu-pok, crunchy beansprouts and long beans and topped with mint leaves. For extra kick, I added in some lime juice for the tangy flavour. Ooooohhh….this cholesterol-laden bowl of laksa is indeed very good!!!

Best place to find cheap crabs!
Not sure about you guys but my family ABSOLUTELY adores CRABS. It’s been a while since we had crabs. Usually whenever we were to feast on crabs it would be because its a special day or it’s been a really LONG time since we had crabs. So guess what? It was mama wong that was actually craving for crabs. Typically we would head down to Kepong for our usual crabs because it was then the cheapest one in town. Back then when I was 16, it was ONLY RM18 for two crabs! But as time past and now being 2013, it’s now RM32 for two crabs, which is still affordable lah.

LAZY to travel an hour to get cheap seafood?

Note: I been going to Kepong’s outlet since I was 16, but since this year due to location, Puchong is nearer. Hence this review of their Puchong outlet 🙂
We arrived at 6ish pm.
There were a few tables empty, while others were half way through their dinner.
The best time to be there is before 7pm on a weekend!
If you arrive later than that, you might end up waiting in a 30min line to be seated.
So YOU have been warned!
Their interior design is super simple
Like seriously, it’s like they didnt even put any effort for deco
Maybe just their sign and an alter for their god.
Their Kepong outlet has better designs and been renovated beautifully.
So if you don’t mind the travel and wait (it’s super crowded there), then go for it 🙂

Lots of people complain about their crab being very small
but seriously, if you are paying RM16 for each,
what gives you the right to complain?
You get what you paid for la..
If you are expecting a crab that would cover your entire plate then I
think you should pay RM100 for it.
This crab was about a fist big.
In my opinion it’s alright for the price
and today’s catch was pretty fresh to me 🙂

Though this was more expensive than my usual,
they included more crab meat and the taste is better
How should I describe it?
Well, it’s thick and it doesn’t taste all MSG but more natural?
In the end we left no one behind
My family don’t believe in wasting food so,
just like chicken and fish,
we mean serious business when we eat our crab.
It’s usually survival of the fitness at the table. haha
I am always the last to finish my crab = less opportunity to have more crab
because they are all gone! D’:

I am always craving for crabs… hehe.
restaoran tak fok is at the desa here and i do bring my family here to dine in sometime to try on their other menu besides the famous crab. but when i come in there are so many people even as early as 5pm and i guess next time i also need to be more early. they introduce the homemade taufu which taste good very soft taufu and on top have spread with the minced pork and fried it. tasty

得福小厨还有好几样拿手菜我们没点(吃不下那么多啊),比如椰子咖喱虾、石烧饭等等。 海鲜菜馆来说得福小厨的价钱还不错,尤其是螃蟹的价钱还挺合理的。 突然好想去点个芝士螃蟹和一盘炸馒头坐着慢慢吃呀!

德福小廚是今天的重點 這是他裝修后的模樣,感覺很class,但覺得和他的食物主题有点格格不入啦。 在puchong還有一家分店四个贪吃的人,即使倾盆大雨都还是依计划往甲洞,说真的,我超爱甲洞的,那里的美食,吃不完,可以选择一整天就呆在那里啊。帮你们拟个计划案。 早上可以去附近的德记吃早餐! 超棒的点心~不会偷工减料!一只只的虾。yummmmmmy… 然后去jusco看一場电影小逛。 午餐有很多选择。 我直接跳过。。 就说刨刨兵的雪花冰,也是一流的~ 尤其ice cake。是我的最愛。

晚餐,当然要吃螃蟹才可以。咸蛋超螃蟹,那个味道,吃过一次,你肯定会怀念。哈哈。 還有,曾江的日本奶油田螺,本來是覺得田螺有點惡心,可是吃起來,真的一流! 还有,肉骨茶啦~西餐啦。火锅啦。 好多。。 流口水吧?哈哈哈。 倒序。 昨天的晚餐。 四个人吃了RM105.其实还不错,因为四个人都撑得。。。哈哈。 这是第二次去这件餐馆~ 螃蟹真的一流的!還有,出名地,便宜。色香味俱全! 很多美食節目都曾經介紹過。 我們點了,咸蛋炒螃蟹,cheesy螃蟹,炒四大天王,南乳醬仔雞,還有鐵板豆腐。 看圖,看圖~
